According to the Department of Homeland Security (DHS), all organizations should have a disaster preparedness plan or Continuity of Operation Plan (COOP) in case of natural disasters or private network LAN/WAN failures. Before IP telephony, it would have been hard to preserve telephone operations during a crisis; circuited-switched telephony systems rely on a direct electrical connection to the local telephone company's Central Office.
In contrast to traditional telephony systems, Nuvio's nConnect disaster survivable. The VoIP soft switch platform is based on packet-switching from remote media gateways. This allows you to program your telephone numbers to bypass your telephone system and be switched to other locations. Outgoing calls can also be made from another location or from your computer.
With E911 service, when you dial 911, your telephone number and registered address is simultaneously sent to the local emergency center assigned to your location, and emergency operators have access to the information they need to send help and call you back if necessary.
Nuvio will attempt to procure a directory listing for your Nuvio Service. However, our ability to obtain a directory listing will be dependent upon the listing CLEC as well as their rules and guidelines for listing such. Recent activity require that all directory listings must have an address that corresponds to the exact rate center for which a number is serviced out of. While this usually does not present any problems, in larger metropolitan areas, multiple rate centers may appear to be local and/or have the appearance of being in the same city. However, there is a distinction and most of our CLECs will not allow a cross jurisdictional listing. For example, having a phone number that comes from a Hollywood rate center would preclude a listing in southern Los Angeles. The listing must be in the Hollywood physical rate center service area.
Our employees play a huge role in the continued success of our company. From engineering to marketing to operations and administration, we are always looking for talented individuals to join the Nuvio family.
