Experienced LAMP Programmer

Job Description - We are looking for an experienced LAMP Developer with WSDL/XML experience to provide development, installation, and configuration support for our current and future websites. Duties will include: extending the existing website through custom module development; extending the existing user modules, with a focus on our mission, to provide enhanced user experience to visitors; intranet development for reporting, marketing, and management; development of website widgets for use on 3rd party websites using 3rd party APIs; assist in optimization of existing content management to meet the needs of our staff and userbase. We will also look for someone with experience with versioning systems, and building and maintaining MySQL databases.

This position is an integral, 'hands-on' position that will be involved throughout the product planning, development, and deployment lifecycles.

REQUIREMENTS- Candidate must have a bachelor's degree or 3+ years of equivalent experience developing community driven websites using LAMP technologies. In addition, the candidate should be a motivated, self-starter with the ability to multi-task, prioritize tasks, recognize the business impact of change, and provide input into design and architecture to enhance performance and functionality. Additionally, the candidate will have the ability to work independently and within a team environment.

SKILLS -

• 3+ years of demonstrable PHP experience
• 2+ years of MySQL DBMS, Apache, Linux OS
• 2+ years working with HTML/CSS templates within a database driven environment for dynamic websites
• Hands on experience with the installation, management, maintenance, and customization of Drupal
• Experience developing and administering community-based applications
• Hands-on experience and expertise with cross platform/browser compatibility and client-side languages and architecture (DHTML, CSS, Ajax, JavaScript, XML)
• Understand, analyze and write SQL as needed
• Experience developing website widgets using 3rd party APIs
• Ability to build, deploy, maintain, and support a community based, high-availability website
• Familiarity with and adherence to web standards
• Excellent debugging skills
• Perl, though not required, is also beneficial

Additionally, any experience in developing widgets in QEDWiki, Mac OSX, Yahoo, and Google Gadgets would be beneficial.
